The era has evolved with a lot of new dimensions, now a day blog systems allow the bloggers to leave a URL to their website with every comment. There are a few caution measures to be followed. Stick to the marketing agenda & keep the focus on strategy. Every comment lets you key in an URL but you must not spam with it. You could consider content with a lot of repeating phrases as one of the pet peeves of those who are pretty strict with the grammar. They’ll tell you that you can use pronouns to replace those. Why would anyone be scared of using pronouns, anyway? On to my point, if you’re going to spam, people are going to associate you with that persona of a spammer. It’s going to be hard to rebuild a persona once the people have gotten used to it.
Great article on commenting. It can really be helpful in starting to building some traffic and links to your website. What a great idea to put your do follow links in a RSS reader so you can find most interesting and relevant material. Another example of why commenting is good you can find great tips like that.

I def agree as for the RSS feed. I follow quite a few sites in Google Reader on various topics, but I’ve put together a separate folder for sites that I especially want to comment on. That way, as soon as I see an interesting post, I can click through and comment.
Seems a bit odd, though, that the article didn’t mention CommentLuv – as this is a CommentLuv enabled blog. It’s a good way for the blogger to get comments, and it provides an added benefit to the commenter. Win-win situation.

I wouldn’t say that blog commenting is the best, but I will say it’s the second best way to get good backlinks.
The number one thing has to be guest posting, here you get anywere from 2 to 6 backlinks in one article. And you can here link to other pages than the frontpage, something you normally can’t when commenting.

Arcording to what i have heard, you can in trouble if you only use the keywords in all the comments.
But blog commentors can be spammers, for example if you use softwares that makes you 1000 link a day then Google knows that you haven’t made them your self. Hence getting you in trouble.
You’ve done a great job explaining how to build links using blog commenting. It’s a little bit hard to figure out what methods work better than others. It’s a very time consuming process, so the techniques you recommend helps streamline the process. Thanks!
Thanks becca. Yes mix of all techniques is a good choice, Google keeps changing the algorithm from time to time so cannot say which technique might turn out to be useful. Blog comments is a good option especially for new blogs to pass the PR juice.

That wouldn’t actually be a sure way for you not getting your comment approved on my blog.
That and one liners are in my book the worst kind of comments..
For years I didn’t have a gravatar because I was too stupid to figure out why my account wouldn’t work. I finally signed up with my new email account and got a gravatar which would work.
As for the type of comments one leaves, it almost seems as if you suggest leaving comments that aren’t very high quality. I may be misunderstanding your point of just going with the flow of existing comments and possibly even just leaving a thanks or congratulations message. I guess once in a while that is okay to do, but I wouldn’t want to make a habit of it.

I believe that commenting on blogs that have commentluv installed is a really good idea to get backlinks to ones site with comments… reason being that your comment can be relevant to the content, yet you still get 2 links back to your site

I would agree that commeting is a effective way of creating good backlinks to your website. When I checked my visitor statistics other day I was surprised to se that a great deal of my visitors actually finds my website, clicking my comments on other peoples website.
